Math Club
Hardy is planning to offer two sessions of Math Club this year. The first session will begin in November and run through mid-January. Our second sessions will begin in February and finish in late March. Math Club is an after school program designed to give students opportunities to engage with mathematical games and activities that will spark their enthusiasm and enhance their confidence.
Our goal at Hardy is to ensure that every student has access to every educational resource. We want all of our students to have the same opportunity to participate in the Math Club including our Boston students. Last year we were able to help Boston families make the necessary arrangements. If you would like your child to participate in the Math Club, please contact Charlene Cook so plans can be made to work out the logistics.
Students in grades K through 5 can sign up for this no cost club by completing and submitting the registration form. We had an overwhelming response to Math Club last year. Registration will begin on Monday, Oct. 23 and close Monday, Oct. 30 at 3:00 p.m. Please send registration forms to the Hardy Office. Our enrollment cap is 25 students with equal representation across grade levels. We will choose students at random on Monday, Oct. 30. We will contact all families regarding the status of their child’s registration by Thursday, Nov. 2. If your child is placed on a “Waiting List” s/he will receive special consideration for the Spring Session of Math Club.
Students must attend all six sessions. We reserve the right to substitute names from the “Waiting List” if a student misses sessions or is late on a consistent basis. The club is a drop-off and pick-up activity led by a Hardy School teaching assistant, parent volunteers and Wellesley College students.
Dates of Fall Session: Nov. 8, 15, 29 and Jan. 10, 17, 24.
Sessions for grades K, 1, and 2 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Sessions for grades 3, 4, and 5 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
