AMAZING INVERTEBRATES – (2N)
Did you know that 97% of all animals do not have a backbone? They are called invertebrates and there are millions of different kinds living on the Earth. Explore invertebrates like corals, snails, crabs, spiders and sea urchins. Put together your own invertebrate to take home.
ELECTRICITY AND MAGNETISM (3M)
What is the connection between electricity and magnetism? Explore simple electric circuits and magnets, make an electromagnet and determine what factors make your electromagnet powerful!
VIRTUAL REALITY & GAME DEVELOPMENT (5S)
Come explore virtual worlds! Try on a virtual reality headset and play in a 3D, interactive world. Then learn how you can make your own game and virtual experiences!
MATH DETECTIVES (2HL)
Who’s up for the challenge? Explore ideas in mathematics using hands-on models. Can you figure out the colors of M&M’s in a sealed envelope with only a few clues? Can you cut a pizza into 11 pieces with just 4 cuts? All this and more brain teasers!
THE ALMIGHTY GLACIER (5A)
Did you know that 12,000 years ago your backyard was covered by a glacier? Come play with flubber to learn about glaciers and the impact they’ve had on the Wellesley landscape.
COMBAT ROBOTICS (Library)
Come learn how we put together our miniature fighting robots and watch us turn our hard work into bits of shredding metal and plastic!
STARLAB PLANETARIUM (Gym)
Want to learn about the night sky? Learn how to locate the “North Star”, as well as other starts and constellations. Learn about the Milky Way and other amazing galaxies that are a part of this universe. The night sky is full of intrigue and wonder.
PROGRAMMING – ROBOGALS (Music Room)
Come have fun with all sorts of technology! Program picocrickets, control your own Scratch character, and create interactive arts and crafts projects with Littlebits!
CLIMATE CHANGE & SUSTAINABILITY (KB)
Come and learn and discuss the concept of climate change and environmental sustainability, how they are advocating for sustainability at Babson College, and how every student can integrate green practices into their daily lives. Students will be making planters made from various recycled materials to take home and plant accordingly!
RENEWABLE ENERGY WORKSHOP (3P)
Become an innovator in this design/build workshop that will have you creating a working wind turbine. This 100% hands-on experience will have you developing knowledge of renewable energy systems and the emerging technologies that can support healthier planet & people.
SQUID DISSECTION (3L)
The squid is an amazing mollusk! Come and see this adapted animal with its version of a shell on the inside. Dissect and look at the inside of the squid. See the bilateral symmetry and use its inside shell (pen) and ink sac to write. *Please refrain from signing-up for this this session if you have a seafood allergy.
